Flat Roofing Services

A flat roof is a roof which is almost level in contrast to the many types of sloped roofs. The slope of a roof is known as its pitch. The majority of flat roofs have a pitch of approximately 10°. Flat roofs are an ancient form mostly used in arid climates and allow the roof space to be used as a living space or a living roof.

Flat roofing services we provide include:

Self-Adhering

A Self-Adhering Roofing System will provide long-lasting protection for the low-slope areas of your property without the danger or hassles associated with the installation of other conventional roofing products.

Build Up Roofing (BUR) System

Built up roof membranes (commonly known as BUR), have been in use in the U.S. for more than 100 years. More commonly referred to as “tar and gravel” roofs, BUR systems are generally composed of alternating layers of bitumen as well as reinforcing fabrics to create a finished membrane. The reinforcing fabrics also are called roofing felts or ply sheets. Roofing felts are reinforced with either glass-fiber mats or organic mats. Felts are produced in a standard width of 36 inches and metric width of about one meter. Sometimes, a base sheet, used as the bottommost ply, is mechanically fastened. Built up roofs generally are considered to be fully adhered if applied directly to roof decks or insulation.

We also specialize in removing pond water from your roof. Ponding is the unwanted pooling of water which can typically occur on a flat roof. This can accelerate the deterioration of many materials. Most affected are the seam adhesives in single-ply roof systems, steel equipment supports, and particularly roofing asphalt. On low-slope asphalt roofs, ponding water allows the oil solvent components of the asphalt to leach out and evaporate, leaving the roof membrane brittle and susceptible to cracking and leaking in the ponding location.
